Port Royale 4 releases September 25th on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It’s decent for what it offers, being really colorful, with nice water effects, but it’s just not epic enough, like the rest of the game. In the end, Port Royale 4 isn't the world's greatest strategy game, but it builds upon a solid foundation to cement its role as the flagship merchant simulator. You’ll mostly be looking at miniaturized towns, a zoomed out world map, and menus. For the first time in the series, naval battles will be turn-based, with up to 8 ships battling at one time and tactical captain maneuvers that can turn the tide in even the most hopeless of situations for a glorious victory. In terms of presentation, Port Royale 4 is decent, but then again, it’s decent for a simulator.
